Where are your ranches?

The ranchers and farmers we work with are located in Montana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The product's origin depends on the location of the customer. Currently, we are focused on delivering the highest quality beef to the eastern states. If you are located on the west coast, please email us at support@theboscreek.com and we can refer you to our sister company.

What do your animals eat?

Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished and eat wild grass native to their location. Our cattle come from family owned and operated ranches. The chicken are raised under a natural program and cage free. They spend adequate time outdoors and consume non-gmo feed. Likewise, the pigs are raised under a natural program using non-gmo feed and slaughtered within proximity of where they are raised to reduce the animal's stress. All of our animals are raised and harvested under humane practices.

What's so special about grass-fed beef and pasture raised animals?

Grass-fed beef is proven to have a much higher Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio of fatty acids than grain-fed beef, making it good for your heart and brain. It's also higher in CLAs. There is growing evidence that CLAs help reduce risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. There are also higher-levels of micro nutrients: Vitamins A, D, E, & K. Grass-fed beef also has what many would call a “beefier” flavor. Omega 3's play an important role in the prevention of and treatment of coronary artery disease, hypertension, arthritis, & cancer. Pasture-raised is the epitome of “Free-Range”. The animals live in significantly lower stress environments. It is documented that animals that are confined often suffer from psychosis, sicknesses, let alone living in filthy living conditions that can perpetuate the need for antibiotics and other drugs. Pasture-raised animals also move their muscles, meaning that they are very flavorful!

How fresh is my meat?

Our meat is the freshest you'll find without butchering it yourself. We harvest a month prior to our shipping week.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free, but we do charge a $5.95 handling fee for all of our boxes.

How do you ship?

We ship each box in an insulated box with dry ice to ensure your box arrives with the meat frozen. We use Fedex to ship everything within a 1-2 day period.

How often will I get a shipment?

We always ship one box in the middle of the month typically between the 12-19th. The boxes always ship on a Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on the location of the customer) and arrive on a Thursday or Friday.

Can I hold or delay a shipment?

You can hold or cancel your box any time by emailing us at support@theboscreek.com. If you don't want to receive a box in the following month, be sure to hold or cancel before the 1st of the month.

Can I cancel my box at anytime?

Yes of course! please let us know at support@theboscreek.com and we'll cancel your subscription immediately. No questions asked. If you have some time to spare, please share some feedback as to why you are cancelling so we can use this information to improve our service. Thank you.

How does billing work? What are your billing dates?

We bill on the 1st of every month. This is also the deadline to make any changes, to hold, or to cancel.

How is the meat packaged?

Everything is sealed in a 3 millimeter vacuum pouch that is specially designed to withstand freezing cold. You'll find meat stays fresher longer in these bags. Our bags are not yet sous vide safe at this time.

Why a subscription service? How do I know a subscription service is right for me?

Great question! We're a subscription service for a few reasons. Our members have told us it’s convenient to our members to have a box of high-quality meat delivered to the door monthly. We also harvest on regular schedules, so the meat is as fresh as possible. And because we are harvesting the exact number of animals necessary to fulfill our orders, we can pass along savings to you while remaining as evnironmentally friendly as possible! You will find that our grass-fed and pasture-raised products are priced in line or less expensive (and higher quality) than those in leading fine retail stores, local butchers, and online. We also conveniently vacuum pack each individual cut to ensure the product lasts longer. If you have any questions, please email us at support@theboscreek.com.
